Bing vocalizes handiness new Samsung “Tellme” feature

Posted in Samsung Phones on November 4th, 2009

Samsung TellmeIt lets you talk to your Samsung mobile device and putting you in command when you need to get things done and have your hands full. You simply speak what you’re looking for or ask of, and the Microsoft internet engine in your Samsung gadget does it for you mostly.

This is what the Tellme built-in feature of the Samsung Intrepid does, apart from converting spoken words into those taxing SMS or text messages.

Microsoft Mobile senior director Dariusz Paczuski voiced out his glee on the handiness of the Samsung phone. In his Bing blog post, the Microsoft official said such feature saves users from the numerous steps to get things done with other mobile devices and smartphones.

Many agree with Pacsuzki. After all, you simply want to find a restaurant or the nearest gas station, and you’d have to make 20 to 30 taps on your phone to write the text on search engines. Plus, it’s not merely the time doing the tapping at all. It’s more about multi-tasking, particularly when you’re carrying all those office files and laptop, or bags of groceries or driving a car, and you need to make an important call.

With the Tellme button in the Intrepid phones, you simple press to activate the service and tell the smartphone what you need to get done. So whether you are in the speedway or rushing a crowded sidewalk in the city, you simply just have the Tellme button activated and you could get directions where you need to be at, or send your spouse the reminder about your kids’ activities and whereabouts.

It’s all about being able to keep in touch even with your hands full, or finding your way around even with limited time.
Google has launched a similar application for iPhones in 2008 which are now regular features in the more advanced smartphones from Blackberry and others.
