We’ve never quite been taken by so-called camera phones. Cameras on phones – yes. That is, cameras that take half decent pictures that can be uploaded onto a social networking site, or that can be passed around a pub on the phone itself just to remind everyone of a particularly funny / embarrassing moment. But the idea of your phone being your camera is just a little perverse to us. And the Pixon 12 is about the most perverse camera phone ever released.

Packing a quite incredible 12 megapixels, the Samsung Pixon 12 (see what they’ve done there with the name? Very clever) still won’t necessarily be a good camera. Why is that? Well, the reason that, say, a 12 megapixel digital SLR takes good pictures is that it has a huge light sensor, on which those 12 million pixels are spread out across. Meaning well balanced pictures, crisp images and no digital fuzz whatsoever. The Pixon 12, when it comes down to it, is still just a phone, meaning that the light sensor on it is relatively tiny. It might still have 12 million light receptive pixels, but they’re crammed into such a small place that many won’t be functioning as well as they could be.

Anyway, maybe we should speculate too much – there’s a chance Samsung have pulled off something special here and we’ll hold our tongues til we’ve had more a decent go playing with it. And even if it’s not a fantastic camera, with the AMOLED screen, TouchWiz interface and a few other nice bits and bobs, the Pixon 12 is still a decent enough camera in its own right. Check out this Samsung Pixon 12 review full a full rundown of specs, or have a look at the video below.

As we ease into a cold and snowy February, we thought that we would put together a list of the 5 best Samsun mobile phones out there at the moment, or that are set to be released in the near future. Let us know what you think.
1)	The Samsung Pixon – This is Samsung’s leading smartphone at the moment. It comes with a nifty touchscreen and a 8 megapixel camera. It also packs a fantastic 7.2 MBPS internet connection, bringing you breakneck speed when surfing the web
2)	The Samsung Tocco is a cheaper alternative to the Iphone. OK it is not as slick as the Apple equivalent, but it is one heck of a lot cheaper. You can get this handset with plenty of different free gifts as well, which gave us extra incentive to add this little baby.
3)	The Samsung F110 Micoach is for the fitness fanatics out there. If you love your exercise then you will simply adore this mobile phone. The MiCoach allows you to measure various aspects of your fitness including distance, heart rate, speed and calories. You can then download this data to your pc and monitor your performance.
4)	The Samsung Eternity – Yet another smartphone from the Korean giants. It is essentiall a feature light Samsung Omnia, however it doesn’t run on the Microsoft mobile OS and is much better for it in our opinion. Usability is much improved and the interface is much slicker.
5)	The Samsung i8510 16GB was released before Christmas and is still selling well. The killer feature is most definitely its 8MP camera which takes some brilliant photo’s. There is also a 8GB version which is available for free on some cheaper contracts.
So there you have it Samsung blogged’s top 5 Samsung handsets available right now (or very soon) in order of our preference. Think we’ve missed something? Let us know in the comments section.

The brand new Samsung Pixon M8800 is a great new phone which was released in November of 2008 and offers a huge set of high quality features. The phone is equipped with an 8 mega pixel camera, a media player, FM radio, high speed internet USB and Bluetooth connections. The phone also has a completely touch screen user interface as well as GPS and a-GPS navigation. I’ve also seen a lot of Pixon M8800 reviews and most of them are very positive about this phone and I’m not the only one who is very excited about what this phone has to offer personal mobile phone users.
I’ve also seen a lot of Pixon M8800 deals available online and offline and I think as Christmas approaches a lot of mobile phone contracts will be available on great offers. I’ve also noticed that if you’re looking for the Samsung Pixon on contract or on PAYG then it is usually wise to shop around a lot to make sure you’re getting the best deal possible at that time. I’ve got to say I absolutely love this phone and honestly don’t have a bad word to say about it at all.
Overall, the Samsung Pixon is an amazing phone and I expect it’ll do exceptionally well in terms of sales this year and next year due to the high quality features and design. I’ve also seen a Pixon M8800 video which is worth watching if you’re interested in this phone because it’ll give you a chance to see the phone in action before you buy it and you’ll also get to see the phone’s features in a lot more detail than I can describe. All in all, the Samsung Pixon is probably one of the best phones to have been released this year and I have to say it is definitely Samsung’s best ever mobile phone.
